View of Thanh Phu district, Ben Tre province. (Southern Vietnam)
Thanh Phu is a district in the province of Ben Tre, in southern Vietnam. It is surrounded by two important branches of the Mekong River. This is the village of my Vietnamese in-laws, a place where I often get lost. I spend a lot of time there. Life is simple there. Our house is very modest, with only four walls and a roof. It gets oppressively hot, and when it rains and winds, the inside gets damp. It's particularly unpleasant at night when one is fast asleep. But that's how it is, that's life in Thanh Phu!
Galeries sur Thanh Phu:

An Thuan
An Thuan is my in-laws' village. I have been going there since 1994.

An Thanh, My An, An Dien
These are the surrounding villages. Some have just been connected to each other thanks to the construction of roads and bridges. On a new 6 km road, I counted 16 new bridges.

Binh Thanh
Binh Thanh is a village located between Than Phu and the Mekong River, on the way to Tra Vinh. Please proofread and improve the clarity and flow of the text.

La mer, embouchure du Mekong.
With my motorcycle, it takes me 30 to 40 minutes to reach the sea. I go there regularly. I venture off the beaten path and take long walks to the mangroves. Well, what is left of them. I never come across a soul, no one goes that far, except for a few local residents. I always go for a swim because even though the sea is not beautiful in this area, it is always warm. This piece of land, sandwiched between two major branches of the Mekong Delta and loaded with alluvium, mixes the seawater, making it sometimes very gentle. However, the water is never clear there, and the sand is black.

The inhabitants
There are so many inhabitants that it is impossible to describe them all.
